Tres Riches Heures endorses Michelle Welsh as a candidate for commonwealth's attorney of Richmond.

Do you ever have the sneaking suspicion that you've traded in the Berkeley or Byrd plantations for the Ukrops Plantation? Are you tired of living in a region sanitized for your protection, whether you asked for it or not, a homeogenized DisneyWorld without rides, amusements, genuine family values, or themes, except for living in the past? Are you tired of a region run by Driving Miss Daisy Babbits and Aunt Jemima accomodationists? Would you like to see Richmond address its very real problems rather than paper them over with one grandiose civic monument after another that only Albert Speer or Robert Moses could love? Have you had enough of people telling that this civic project will surely correct the problems that the last civic project failed to correct, address, or even caused?

Then a vote for Michelle Welsh is a step in the right direction. Michelle told me at the (postponed) Easter Parade that she has a "grassroots" approach to making Richmond a safe and secure city. Frankly, any approach sounds better than the current "ass-backwards" one, but attacking crime at the grassroots certainly makes sense. Michelle also said she will not be endorsed by the Ukrops Boys, and if that isn't a major asset to any campaign, then I don't know what is.

If you don't vote for Michelle, expect more of the same: "my city, your city, Shoe City."
