Women Go Mad For Weddings!

An informal survey of brides-to-be confirms that often normally sensible women lose their minds when they become engaged. It’s The Dress. Whatever the woman’s normal size, she must have either a 4 or a 6. The Wedding Dress becomes the Moby Dick, the Mt. Everest and the unconquerable pinnacle that must be attained. Suddenly, a woman who’s been a healthy size 8 or 10 -- or more -- has a new mindset. It must be the perfect dress, at the perfect size, regardless of the woman’s usual size.
